WASC 2-Year Extension

WASC has sent a confirmation letter that JFKHS will continue its accreditation for another two years until June 30, 2011.  The success of being an accreditted high school comes from the JFKHS community working together to help foster a learning environment for the JFKHS students.  Repeating the mission of JFKHS: To educate the JFKHS students who will be responsible, caring citizens prepared for the 21st century.

The accreditation report has been collecting teacher, staff, student, parent, and public input for months and the time has come to stamp this copy as final!  Mr. Jonathan Pilarca, JFKHS Accreditation Coordinator, has spent the school year to diligently form this report based upon all the input gathered.  On top of that, he was still carrying a hefty teaching load in his different, number-crunching math classes.  Of course, the strength and guidance (and wisdom) to complete this report is also credited to Angelo Andres, Colette Beausoliel, Dana Figirliyong, Lorena Montague (teacher of the year), and Roberta Abaday.

Aside from bulletins, these updates are meant to keep the John F. Kennedy community updated on the direction of the school.  The file is a .pdf file and may require adobe reader.

Volume 7 - Release on April 2009. Announces the availability of the final WASC Progress Report, asks for samples of student work from teachers for the evidence binders, has Fiesta celebration details, contains the WASC schedule, and lists important events for the month of April.

Volume 6 - Released on March 2009. Encouragement for teachers to seek more for students' needs by reflecting on the present double session situation, asks for final input on the WASC Progress Report from all stakeholders, contains the WASC schedule, and lists important events for the month of March.

Volume 5 - Released February 2009. WASC Progress Report needs to be reviewed for additional comments/corrections and important events for the month of February.

Volume 4 - Releasd January 2009. ESLR Evaluation Update, KAP = ACE, gear up for an accreditation team visit, and important events for the month of January.

Volume 3 - Release December ESLR update, KAP update, and focus groups switched to home groups.

Volume 2 - Released November 4, 2008.  Encourages greater teacher involvement with upcoming projects, place an A.C.E. under your K.A.P., and meeting dates for the Month of November.

Volume 1 - Released October 1, 2008.  Change in faculty meetings, areas of improvement, change in focus groups, and important events for the month of October.
