John F. Kennedy High School’s mission is to develop our island students to become globally primed high achievers.

- *Results from the 2011 High School/College Bowling Championship Singles Tournament, 12/03 at Central Lanes is as follows:
- JFKHS Bowling Team earned 2nd Place - Joseph Mejares, Silver Medal and 3rd Place- Zayne Zamora, Bronze Medal
- At the College Level- JFKHS Alumnus Dioni Borja took 3rd Place
- Sat, Dec 10 is the Doubles Division Championships and next Sat, Dec 17 is the 4-Man Team Championships.

- Come and hear a variety of warm & heartfelt Holiday music sung by a group of passionate singers! Support Vivace by joining them at their concert, "Sounds of the Season," on Sat, Dec 10 at 7 pm, & Sun, Dec 11 at 3 pm at New Covenant Life Church, Tamuning. Pre-sold tickets are $7 & $9 at the door. CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
- *The Bowling Club will meet Dec 12 in D206 during Lunch to finalize the team selections. Practice for the championships will be Wed. Dec. 7 and Dec 14 at Central Lanes. We meet at 1:45 and start bowling at 2:00.
- *JFK Dance Club: Meetings every Wednesday in D213. Please sign up for audition in D213 during lunch. Auditions are scheduled for Wednesday and Friday (December 7 and 9).
- Chinese Cultural Club (CCC): Meeting every Friday at Lunch in A205.
- Calling all ARTISTS! The Creations Art Club will be having meetings every Thursday in D103. There will be a guest speaker coming in this month. More information will be announced soon!
- ATTENTION SENIORS: The last chance to order your cap and gown will be on December 5, 6, 7, 19, 20, and 21. Don’t wait until last minute. Cap and gown orders are $65 for more info, please go to B213.
- You like racks or enjoy a good game of pool? Come join the Billiards Club! Show your talent and skills or even try to become the very best. Meetings are on WEDNESDAYS in Rm B201.
- FUTURE EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION: Are you interested in becoming a teacher? Join the Future Educators Association NOW! Meetings are every Thursday in A202 during lunch. See you there!
- MARINE DEFENDERS: Meetings are Thursday at lunchtime.
- JAPANESE CLUB: will be holding meetings every Wed in F202. Serious members who want to help fundraise and may partake in the Japan trip are invited to attend. Club participation will determine one’s eligibility to take part in the Japan trip.

- Filipino Club (UFSA): Meetings every Thursday at Lunch in Room D223.
- Tourism Hospitality Society will be holding its regular meetings every Friday during lunch in Room G104.

ATTENTION STUDENTS:
- Are you interested in running for Royal Court? W.A.Y. is hosting our annual Winter Formal which will be held on December 23. If you would like to run for King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Duke, or Duchess…you may pick up a contract in B102 anytime during break or lunch starting on December 1 until December 19.
- ALL STUDENTS: The Sinangan-ta Youth Movement will be holding Poetry Slam Workshops every Tuesday starting today (11/29) after school from 2:00 – 3:30pm in D212.
- Yearbooks are now available for reserve for $35. You may place an order during lunch in D118 every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday OR see any yearbook staff. This is the most affordable yearbook on the island. Reserve your copy while supplies last!
TEACHERS:
- *Career Day is Wednesday, December 7. The Main Parking lot in front of the Main Office will be reserved for our guests/presenters Teachers and staff need to park in the other designated parking areas AND may also use the gravel parking lot area in front of the ROTC D-Building. Please remember to be professional and not take leave this day as we truly need to maximize all our JFK resources! Thank you!
- *REMINDER: FACULTY MEETING this Wednesday, Dec. 7th at 1:40 PM in the Media Center.
- ANY AND ALL FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES MUST BE APPROVED BY THE ADMINISTRATORS. Student activities (chartered clubs/organizations) and Standing Committees MUST seek the approval of Mrs. Rosete and Ms. Gutierrez. Athletics MUST seek the approval of Mrs. Hanzsek and Ms. Gutierrez. If appropriate signatures are not obtained, the activity is PROHIBITED and may result in disciplinary action. See Ms. Gutierrez if you have questions.
- The Yearbook photographer will be here on Friday, December 9 for Make-Up Pictures for all those who were not able to take pictures previously. We will also have our FACULTY AND STAFF group shot after school at 1:45pm. We know it’s a payday but if you could give us a bit of your time, we would greatly appreciate it. This group photo will be in the Yearbook. See you on the 9th!

- The Yearbook Staff would like to present Merloj’s Prime Steak House food plate sales! They are $6 for 2 choice daily. There will be an order sheet in the Teacher’s Lounge. - *US Presidential Scholars Nominee. Requirement: high scores on the SAT. See counselor by Dec 15.
- JUNIORS AND SENIORS: There will be a College Admissions Workshop for student and parents hosted by College Access Challenge Grant (CACGP) on Wed., Dec. 14 from 6-8p.m. at GCC’s Multipurpose Auditorium Bldg 400. This is a free event to help your learn about college admissions process. All CACGP participants are encouraged to attend.
- Asian & Pacific Islander Scholarship. $$$ for College. Deadline Jan 13.

- SENIORS: JFKHS just received S.A.T. Fee Waivers for SY 2011-2012. Having a Fee Waiver for the S.A.T. gives you an opportunity to take the test without a fee. Interested students who will be taking the S.A.T. in December/January and meeting the eligibility criteria for receiving a S.A.T. Waiver, please see Mr. Pilarca in the counseling office.
- Gates Millennium Scholarship is available for outstanding minority group students with financial need. Please visit www.gmsp.org. The deadline is Jan 11, 2012.
INTERSCHOLASTIC SPORTS
- TENNIS: Interested in joining 3rd quarter Sport of Tennis? Please pick up a physical and participation form from Mr. Pilarca in the Counseling Office. Official Practice starts December 12. No Physical = No Practice! Please also see the Athletic Director, Mr. Jay Antoino for more information.
