STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES QUICK REFERENCE (SECTION I)

A. Intercom announcement – “Pledge of Allegiance” and “The Guam Hymn” daily; “Alma Mater” on Fridays; accolades; and urgent announcements.
    1. Will take up approximately the first 2 minutes of the period.

  1. Homeroom attendance rosters
    1. Attendance roster folders will be placed in teacher boxes daily.
    2. Homeroom teachers must take daily attendance and place the attendance roster folders in the pocket folders located on the outside of the classroom door.
    3. Attendance rosters will be picked up by school personnel at the end of homeroom and will be replaced in teacher boxes for the next day.
    4. Homeroom teachers are to submit all parent and physician notes to the Student Support Office at the end of each Semester.
    5. Student attendance policy must be strictly followed when issuing admit slips. Refer to the Student Handbook for more information.
      1. Students have 2 consecutive school days following their return to clear absences or tardies with their homeroom teacher. Notes written by students 18 years of age or older will be honored. After 2 consecutive school days the unexcused absence or tardy becomes permanent.
      2. Students with 3 or more consecutive absences must be referred to Student Support Services (Nurse) to obtain an admit slip. Up to 6 parent notes will be accepted, admit slips for all absences (non-consecutive) thereafter must be written by the Student Support Service clerks.
      3. Admit slips must be written for students who were absent from school whether or not a parent/physician note is provided. Indicate absence(s) as excuse or unexcused on the admit slip. Student Support Services attendance clerk will provide attendance verifications for students who leave campus or who are sent home by the nurse during the school day.
      4. Refer to the student handbook for the listing of circumstances for allowable excused absences.

  1. School Bi-Weekly Bulletins
    1. Read bulletin announcements and make copies available for students to review.
    2. Bulletins will go out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  1. School issued forms and documents
    1. Utilize this time to distribute/collect school forms and documents (e.g., free/reduced lunch applications, ERATE forms, report cards, etc.)
